LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY DISCLOSURE
1. STATEMENT OF WARRANTY
Muno Battery (Pty) Ltd (“the Company”) warrants to the original purchaser (“the Customer”) that the Muno Sodium-Ion Series battery (“the Product”) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service conditions. This warranty is issued as a testament to our proprietary multi-doped Manganese chemistry and integrated Smart Battery Management System (BMS).
2. WARRANTY DURATION AND SCOPE
-
Standard Warranty Term: The duration of this Limited Warranty is four (4) years (Standard 4-Year Base) from the date of original purchase.
-
Performance Guarantee: The Company warrants that the Product shall maintain at least 80% of its rated nameplate capacity for the duration of the Warranty Term.
-
Operational Reliability: Coverage includes the Product's failure to accept a charge or provide sufficient cranking amps to start the designated vehicle due to internal manufacturing flaws.
3. MANDATORY OPERATIONAL COMPLIANCE
Validity of this Warranty is strictly contingent upon the Customer’s adherence to the following technical protocols:
-
Charging Infrastructure: Use of external lead-acid, AGM, or unauthorised lithium-ion chargers is strictly prohibited. The Product must be charged exclusively via the vehicle’s alternator or Muno-certified charging systems.
-
Low SOC Recovery Protocol (The 5/15 Rule): In the event of a Low State of Charge (SOC) resulting in a failed start:
-
Jump-start the vehicle using standard safe procedures.
-
Idle the engine for 5–8 minutes to stabilise the initial chemical reaction.
-
Drive the vehicle for at least 15 minutes to allow the Smart BMS to facilitate a full high-rate recovery.
4. EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This Limited Warranty shall not apply to failure resulting from:
-
Storage Negligence: Products left in a discharged state (SOC <10%) for a period exceeding three (3) consecutive months.
-
Unauthorised Tampering: Removal of the battery casing, modification of internal circuitry, or tampering with the proprietary BMS.
-
Inappropriate Application: Installation in vehicles or systems where voltage or current requirements exceed the Product’s rated specifications.
-
External Factors: Damage caused by accidents, fire, flood, or other force majeure events.
5. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
Muno SIB products are engineered and manufactured in accordance with global safety standards:
-
IEC 62133-2: Safety requirements for portable sealed secondary cells.
-
UN 38.3: Certification for safe global air, sea, and land transport.
-
Safety Warning: Improper handling (piercing, incineration, or crushing) remains a safety risk and immediately voids all regulatory and warranty protections.
6. CLAIM REDEMPTION PROCESS
To initiate a warranty claim, the Customer must provide the original proof of purchase and the unique Warranty Activation ID. The Company reserves the right to perform a State of Health (SOH) diagnostic using proprietary Muno software. Upon verification of a covered defect, the Company will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the Product with a functionally equivalent unit.
