Sodium-Ion batteries work on a "rocking chair" principle: energy carriers move back and forth between two sides to charge and discharge. The game-changer here is that we use Sodium ions (Na+) instead of Lithium (Li+).

Sodium is sourced from soda ash—the 6th most common element on Earth.

It is over 1,000 times more plentiful than lithium, making it eco-friendly and immune to the price spikes or shortages of the lithium market.

Because sodium doesn't damage aluminum, we can use lightweight aluminum foil for the internal components.

This sheds significant weight and cuts costs compared to the heavy copper used in other batteries.
